Introduction

Performed modification consists of the installation of following equipment: 

  • The existing POINTER Locator Beacon Transmitter Model 3000-11 is replaced by one Artex ELT C406-1 with TSO C126 and JTSO-2C126
  • The existing Locator Beacon Transmitter Antennas is replaced by one ELT Blade Antenna at same location right hand side
  • The existing Locator Beacon Transmitter switches in the cockpit is replaced and relocated by an ELT Remote Switch from the CoPilots Circuit Breaker Panel to the CoPilot’s Side Panel near the clock
  • According to the TSO C126 requirements a buzzer is installed next to the ELT in the tail compartment
  • Installed ELT Arinc C406-1 is a Type AF (Automatic Fixed) transmits on 121.5 , 243.0 and 406.025 MHz.

The ELT is enclosed within a multi-piece housing consisting of a mounting tray, a protective top cover and an end cap. It is provided as a complete system which includes an installation kit, a remote cockpit switch, one coax cable an audible buzzer and a fixed single input antenna. The Artex ELT C406-1 uses a single connector antenna and a single coax feed cable to accommodate all three frequencies.

IMPORTANT NOTE: this EASA STC is TCCA/Canada validated.  In order to receive the TCCA validation additional substantiation, requested only by TCCA had to be provided in accordance with Part V - Airworthiness Manual Chapter 551 - Aircraft Equipment and Installation, Standard, 551.104:  (iii) The ELT must be installed to withstand ultimate inertia forces of 10g upward, 22.5g downward, 45g forward and 7.5g sideward.
