Recognized national health institutes in several countries currently advises these AED.
As a result of this, operators are requested by these health institutes to install this AED equipment on board of the aircraft.
Further AMC1 CAT.IDE.A.220 (b) (4) was issued with additional guidance, which is further detailed in FAQ n.19169, issued by EASA (https://www.easa.europa.eu/faq/19169)
Although the AED units are widely spread for civil use, DOA 160 certification for aerospace use is sometimes difficult to prove.

Under certain circumstances, special conditions are required to operate the aircraft for for example maintenance reposition fligth. A non EASA aircraft maufacturer may issue No techical objection orsimilar statement.
